About

When I was eight years old, two books changed my life.

The first, Spellfall by Katherine Roberts, sparked the mind-opening realization that books were written by real people— and that meant I could write them too. I wrote my first twenty-page "novel" in pencil, sprawled across the classroom floor during recess, and named the main character Katherine.

Then, I read J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and the beauty of the prose enthralled me. I didn't only want to tell stories, I wanted to paint pictures with words.

Thus began a life-long obsession.
